Tracking progress
Student progress is tracked through standardised assessments, teacher evaluation and targeted support. From Year 2 to Year 6, students take GL Progress Tests each summer to gain insight into their performance. CAT4 assessments in Years 3-6, identify their strengths and areas for development. Year 1 students complete Phonics Screening Tests to assess early reading skills. Termly assessments and daily AfL strategies ensure adaptive teaching. Tailored target setting helps students work towards clear, achievable goals for continued progress.
Transitioning from Primary to Secondary
Students are supported in their transition from Primary to Secondary through a structured process that prepares them academically, socially and emotionally. During transition days, Year 6 students experience Secondary School life by meeting staff, exploring the school and attending sample lessons. Teachers work closely together to share academic data and insights to ensure that the needs of each student are met.
