Students follow an enhanced curriculum built on the National Curriculum for England (NCE) that promotes collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
Students master innovation in our special STEAM+ programme through hands-on experiments  - designing earthquake-proof structures, testing scientific theories and solving creative challenges that blend Maths, Science, Technology, Arts and Engineering.

Students at Star International School, Mirdif follows the National Curriculum for England across Key Stages 3 to 4 which prepares students for IGCSEs and training and employment, with emphasis on academic excellence as well as personal growth.
Students progress through a balanced curriculum in Key Stage 3 designed to promote both academic and personal development, where they study a variety of subjects, all of which prepare them for future academic challenges.
Students continue to develop their academic strengths in Key Stage 4 while exploring subjects that align with their interests and future aspirations. At Star, Mirdif, students actively develop the social and collaborative skills they need to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. Through regular group projects and collaborative tasks, they practise teamwork, communication and creative problem-solving—learning how to listen, contribute and lead effectively.Students also take on meaningful roles within the school community, such as Pupil Parliament representatives, House Captains and Prefects. ISP Virtual Buddy Exchange ProgrammeStudents connect with peers from other ISP schools, participating in weekly video calls to foster cultural exchange and build global friendships. Age range: 12-17Â
ISP Model United Nations (MUN)Students simulate a United Nations conference, discussing and solving international issues, improving debate and diplomacy skills. Age range: 13-18Â

Entry-level assessments
Students complete a CAT4 assessment on entry to assess their skills and compare them with those of their peers.

Key Stage 3: Instead of traditional week-long exams, students take subject-specific tests to assess their progress.
Key Stage 4 and beyond: Students take topic-based assessments and formal examinations, including mock examinations for Years 11-13. Exams can be taken at the end of Year 10 for some subjects.
Transition to the next level
Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 - Year 10 options: Students experience an Options Evening in Year 9, along with informative booklets and taster sessions to help them explore their options. Support is provided to help Students receive support make informed choices, with personalised advice from the Future Pathways Coordinator.
Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5: Students make choices based on their academic achievements and personal preferences. Options are confirmed following receipt of their GCSE/BTEC results. They confirm their options after receiving their GCSE/BTEC results. Year 10 also includes valuable work experience to prepare students for their future.

Students begin the day with morning registration and greetings, including the singing of the national anthem, which helps set a positive tone and foster a sense of community and belonging.

Students engage in interactive lessons that spark their curiosity, blending thought-provoking discussions and critical thinking exercises. These sessions encourage exploration and deeper understanding of core subjects.

Students refresh with healthy snacks and outdoor movement, building social connections and recharging their focus for morning learning.
09.50 – 11.30am  Learning continues with focused sessions that combine creative problem-solving and intellectual challenges, allowing students to dive deeper into their studies in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Students enjoy a well-balanced meal and get time to relax and recharge before the afternoon lessons.
12.15 – 13.50pm Â
During these periods, students deepen their understanding through engaging, inquiry-based learning that fosters critical thinking and a passion for discovery.

Students reset mentally with a supervised 15-minute break before tackling the day's final stretch with renewed focus.

Afternoon lessons focus on engaging, student-led activities that deepen understanding, spark curiosity and encourage critical thinking.

Students exit campus in an organised, supervised manner, with staff ensuring safe transitions - whether departing independently or during parent pick-up.Â

Students take part in enrichment sessions, clubs and leadership meetings - extending their learning, building confidence and exploring personal interests beyond the classroom.
Please note - On Fridays, pick-up time for all students is at 11.30am. Lessons and activities conclude before lunch to allow for weekly staff training and preparation.
