We see our staff, students and parent community as part of our family. Star, Mirdif, belongs to our wider community, and is more than a school. It is the heart of the community and we look to our neighbours, near and farther away, to join us. Always approachable and friendly, we have an open door policy with the senior team, teachers and support staff, and believe in ensuring all our community members feel valued.

We nourish incredible global citizens who are ambassadors for their community. Through excellent pastoral care, and with the support of our Star Family, we have excellent attitudes to learning and behaviour throughout the school. Our children respect and care for one another. Systems to track and support wellbeing are implemented throughout the school for all staff and students.
Star, Mirdif, has received a Very Good rating across all sections for Personal, Social and Moral Development in the KHDA 2023 inspection.

Beyond a British curriculum - the Star, Mirdif ‘Awe and Wonder’ Curriculum

Through authentic connections, and with the experience of our incredible leaders and teachers, we have ensured that our curriculum inspires Awe and Wonder in our children. We offer personalised pathways to success with world-class choices at KS4 and Post-16. With IGCSEs/A-Levels and vocational BTEC pathways, alongside our pastoral curriculum, we inspire our students to be whoever they want to be when they graduate from Star International School, Mirdif.

STEAM+ Curriculum

We have designed a curriculum unique to Star, Mirdif, aimed at solving global and climate challenges, combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics + Enterprise. Centred around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), students are challenged to pursue transdisciplinary approaches to learning whilst working in teams to save the planet, protect the human race and prepare for the future.

We have partnered with Century Tech, a cutting edge AI-driven educational platform that supports personalised learning and feedback across the Primary and Secondary curriculum. The platform tailors learning experiences based on student performance, and provides guided interventions. This gives students access to cutting edge technology which supports both in-school and home-based learning.

‘Research-Informed’, ‘Wellbeing-Aware’

We are a centre for research informed Learning and Teaching, implementing the latest and empirically sound learning and teaching pedagogy, and our incredible British-trained teachers help students go beyond in their learning.  We have personalised Continuous professional development (CPD) pathways based around the WALKTHRUs for our Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Teachers/Leaders, enabling them to be the best they can be. Our approach is also balanced with ensuring we remain mindful of wellbeing and helping teachers focus on what has the most impact, including time spent planning, resourcing and teaching students in the classroom.

Responsible AI-Powered Technology Integration

We have an excellent technology integrated strategy with BYODD (Bring Your Own Designated Device) from Year 3 upwards. Our policy ensures equality, safety, affordability and consistency whilst utilising technology in responsible ways both in and out of the classroom. 
Star, Mirdif, believes in responsible use of technology. We are a phone-free school for students, and only utilise technology where it enhances learning, and not just for the sake of it.  All students use the same Google Chromebook devices, ensuring consistency and equality for all.

Excellent facilities for academic and sports activities

To support our exciting curriculum, we accommodate a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We have over 60 extra curricular activities running each week, we have an array of sporting clubs such as Football, Netball, Basketball, Dodgeball. Badminton, Cheerleading, Dance and Swimming. Our sports clubs range from morning inclusive clubs to competitive squads that compete in DASSA and The Dubai School Games. Alongside our extensive sporting offer, we have an array of extra curricular activities such as Coding, Cooking, Chess, Drama, School Band, Art Therapy, STEAM, Textiles and many more.
